Prosegue in modo costante al porto di Catania la campagna di vaccinazione del personale marittimo. Ad oggi sono state somministrate oltre 100 dosi. Le vaccinazioni vengono fatte direttamente a bordo delle navi dove l’Ufficio commissariale per l’emergenza Covid di Catania si occupa dell’allestimento del punto vaccinale fornendo il personale medico, per anamnesi e vaccinazione, e informatici per il caricamento dei dati.
L’iniziativa consente di velocizzare i tempi e mettere in sicurezza gli operatori marittimi, aiutando così l’economia e il turismo. La campagna è resa possibile grazie alla collaborazione tra l’Ufficio del commissario, l’Autorità portuale, la Capitaneria di Porto e le principali Compagnie navali che hanno aderito all’iniziativa.
“Incrementare il numero delle somministrazioni – spiega il commissario per l’emergenza Covid Catania, Pino Liberti – è una priorità. Da tempo ormai lavoriamo per avvicinare il vaccino alle persone. E la campagna che coinvolge il personale marittimo ne è un esempio concreto. Spero che questa iniziativa giovi da stimolo per altre istituzioni e associazioni di categoria e più in generale per quanti non hanno ancora prenotato il vaccino”.
